Sonya Gonzalez
Sonya has been painting for over 20 years and has exhibited locally and nationally. A native of San Antonio, her art is inspired by nature, music, family, faces and the Hispanic culture. The use of striking colors pierces her work to capture the whimsical side of life. Ms.Gonzalez started
playing the violin at age 8 which has influenced her work. Her pieces have been featured on the covers of national magazines such as American Recorder, Southwestern Musician, Music Educators National Conference, and The Poet. She also does commission work for nonprofit organizations. Most recently the San Antonio Public Library installed her mural,"Cuentos de mi Vida" at the Las Palmas Branch Library.
