Jean B. Laman 

After earning her undergraduate and MFA degrees at the

University of North Texas in Denton, Jean B. Laman taught in

the art department at Texas State University in San Marcos.

She was professor of the fibers program, until retiring in 2011.

Laman has been influenced by travels to various museums

and galleries throughout the world. She enjoys combining the

accidental with the deliberate, often resulting in works that

bring to mind memories of the past.

 

Her work has been exhibited in this country and abroad and

is included in national and international corporate and private collections. She was recently invited to present a workshop on marbling on fabric at the World Craft Council in Vienna, Austria.
