Susan Michael Sørensen
At the ripe age of three, Susan Michael Sørnesen decided to
become a visual artist after winning an art contest. She went
on to develop her personal style at the University of North
Texas, California College of the Arts, Laguna Gloria Museum
School, and The Southwest School of Art.
Sørensen’s figurative and portrait work is about playful
interpretation of the human form. Her abstract work is about
contrasting color, form, and nature. Her process involves
making marks and removing marks until interesting shapes
emerge from the layers of paint.
She won an Award for Achievement in Painting at the Voertman Show at University Gallery in Denton, Texas. She has exhibited in Texas, New York, and California.
