Vera Smith
After living in the Netherlands, France, Germany, California and Japan, Vera (von Benckendorff-) Smith has lived in San Antonio, TX for 20 years. She paints in oil and watercolor and draws using graphite. Two of her recent teachers have been Edward Povey and Jim McDonald. Her art can be found at the San Antonio Artists Collective, Munch On, Dr Robert Rodriguez dental office, Mockingbird Handprints, the River Art Group gallery in San Antonio and in collections around the world.
Favorite subjects are portraits, landscapes, animals (including whimsical cats) and ancient rock art.
